sustainability
We try our best to prioritise sustainability and create the lowest impact we can in the creation of our candles. Our candle vessels are reusable, our coconut apricot wax blend is biodegradable, and we use minimal packaging to avoid unnecessary waste.
REFILLS
Our candle refills are designed for previous customers who want to reuse their existing ROAM vessel and opt for a more eco-friendly and reusable option. Our refill candles are currently available in all core scents, and come wrapped in recyclable kraft paper in order to minimise packaging.
packaging
We ship our candles in a 100% recyclable box with recyclable tape and padded with biodegradable packing peanuts. These peanuts can be placed in the compost bin or will dissolve in water. Our boxes are sized to fit our candles to minimise waste and keep shipping costs to a minimum. Candles are placed in a reusable cotton pouch, and come with a small recyclable card with details about the candle.
reusing your vessels
Just like with nature, when one thing runs the course of its life, it makes space for another to take its place. We encourage this cycle with our ROAM candles. Set your vibe, absorb your scent, and when your candle burn is complete, clean out your vessel and plant a seed.
There are endless ways you can repurpose your candle vessel around the home and it makes a great decorative piece. To clean your jar, scoop out any excess wax using a teaspoon and wash the vessel with warm soapy water or place it in the dishwasher. Reuse your vessel as a plant pot, a cute makeup brush holder, a decorative jar...the options are endless. Alternatively, you can break the jar apart and use it in plant pots to help aerate the soil. Our ceramic vessels are totally dishwasher safe. Using a spoon, gently scoop out any remaining wax, give the inside a quick clean with dish soap and then either stick in in the dishwasher or scrub it with a soft brush and warm water and dish soap.
Our Candle Collection
Our candles are hand-poured in Vancouver and made in very small batches to reduce wasted product. We use a premium natural coconut-apricot wax which is vegan, toxin-free, paraben-free, biodegradable, clean-burning and derived from renewable sources. The Crackling Wooden Wicks are made from FSC certified wood and are clean-burning.
Our ceramic vessels have been designed to fit any home aesthetic, with a high-end and minimalistic finish. This is something we've always struggled to find ourselves; a vessel that is as much a decor piece as it is a beautiful candle. Our candle-making journey began as a therapeutic hobby during the pandemic, and we modelled our scents after our most-loved destinations as a reminder of our favourite travels. This sparked the idea of creating luxury vessels and candles inspired by adventure, which is where the idea for ROAM came to life.
Giving back is really important to us and we want to make sure that each sale makes a positive and meaningful impact. 5% of the profits from each candle sold will be donated to Coral Gardeners, who help to restore damaged and dying coral reefs and bring life back to the ocean. The exception is the “Churchill” candle, and for every candle sold, 10% of the profits will be donated to Polar Bears International, an organisation close to my heart that helps to protect and conserve wild polar bears in the arctic. Once your candles have finished burning, we recommend reusing or up-cycling your vessel to extend its lifespan. To clean your jar, remove any excess wax using a teaspoon and wash out with warm soapy water or in the dishwasher. They make great plant pots, herb jars, makeup holders, pencil pots…the options are endless. Alternatively, you can break the jar apart and use it in plant pots to help aerate the soil.
